And yet you may still be asking:
Why doesn't the money in the bank reflect how busy we are?
Are we actually making enough profit and on which work?
Are we pricing correctly, or guessing?
Can we afford to hire, invest in equipment, or expand?
Is the next VAT or corporation tax bill going to be another surprise?
If you don't have complete clarity about your numbers, you don't have to keep trying to work it out on your own.
Surrey Accountancy helps business owners understand their finances, improve profitability and cash flow, and make better decisions about what comes next.

You're busy, but you're not seeing the profit you expected.
You check the bank balance to work out whether the business is doing well.
You're not sure how much profit any individual job or product actually makes.
You don't know whether labour is being fully recovered in your pricing.
Materials, wastage and rework are quietly eating your margin.
Your overheads aren't properly reflected in what you charge.
Your accountant tells you what happened months ago, instead of helping you understand what's happening now.
VAT or corporation tax arrives as an unwelcome surprise.
You have accounting software, but the reports don't tell you anything useful.
You want to invest, hire or expand but you don't feel confident enough in the numbers to commit.
We're growing business dolor
How did you about us?
None of these mean you're doing something wrong. They usually mean the financial information you're working from isn't good enough to answer the questions you're asking of it.
Manufacturing has financial risks that a standard set of accounts simply doesn't reveal..
A job can look profitable until you cost the labour properly.
A product can look profitable until you account for wastage and rework.
Sales can rise while cash gets tighter.
And one wrong pricing assumption, repeated across hundreds of jobs, quietly changes the shape of the whole business.
With a background in engineering, manufacturing and accountancy, Tiba understands these businesses from both sides the shop floor and the spreadsheet.
If you make furniture, signage, interiors, specialist products or other physical goods, we can help you understand the numbers behind each part of the operation, not just what appears on the year-end accounts.
Good Empire is a small-scale manufacturer whose figures were previously only reviewed properly once a year. After Surrey Accountancy rebuilt the bookkeeping system, the company gained substantially greater understanding of its QuickBooks reports and its financial position.

More than an accountant. A financial partner for your business.
I'm Tiba, founder of Surrey Accountancy.
For more than 25 years I've worked across accountancy and business, supporting companies at very different stages of growth.
My original background is in engineering, and I've run a manufacturing business myself. That matters more than it might sound. It means I know what it feels like to quote a job and wonder afterwards whether it was worth it. I know that behind every number there is a process materials, labour, capacity, wastage, a decision someone made under pressure.
So when I look at your accounts, I'm not only asking whether they're correct. I'm asking what they're telling you.
Does your pricing work? Are your margins strong enough? Will your cash flow support your next move? Is the decision you're about to make financially sustainable?
I take the time to understand your business as well as your numbers because you should never feel like another name on an accountant's client list.

One conversation. No pressure, no obligation, no jargon.
Just an experienced pair of eyes on the part of your business that's hardest to see clearly on your own.
Three things get confused in almost every busy business, and untangling them changes everything:
Your accounts should tell you what is working, what isn't, where you're making money, where you're losing it, what needs your attention now and what your business can realistically do next.
Not once a year. While there's still time to act.

"I have a much better understanding of what the figures are telling me about the business."

A manufacturing client whose bookkeeping was rebuilt, giving her confidence in her reports and, more importantly, in what they mean.
"We are now more organised, better informed and have far greater confidence in our financial management."

After difficulties with two previous accountancy firms, accumulated errors were corrected and the company's accounts were put back on a solid footing.
"Their support has gone far beyond simply looking after the accounts."

With the financial work off his shoulders, his time went back into sales and growth — support he says contributed over time to a substantial increase in sales.
"I feel confident, happy, and I don't have the stress anymore."

Complicated financial information made understandable — and the anxiety that came with it removed.
"The cost of not knowing is far higher than the consultation."

The business owner's guide to understanding your numbers, protecting cash flow and making better growth decisions.

How to price jobs, control costs, protect cash flow and grow with confidence.
On the call, Tiba listens first.
We'll talk about what's happening in the business, where things are difficult, and what you're trying to achieve.
Perhaps your accounting system isn't giving you information you can use.
Perhaps the business looks profitable but there's never enough cash.
Perhaps you need better management information.
Perhaps you're weighing up an investment and don't know whether the business can carry it.
Or perhaps you simply feel your current accountant doesn't really understand you or your business.
We'll identify where the problem is most likely to be, and talk honestly about what a sensible next step could look like including if that step isn't us.
If we decide to work together, your financial setup and accounts are then reviewed properly as part of the client onboarding process.
Roughly 30–45 minutes. Online or by phone. Complimentary, and no obligation.

Frequetly Asked Question
Yes. It's complimentary, with no obligation to become a client. It's an opportunity to understand your current situation and to see whether we're the right fit for each other.
If information regularly arrives too late, you don't understand your financial reports, tax bills surprise you, you don't know your true profitability, or you can't use your numbers to make decisions it may be worth reviewing the level of financial support you're getting. That's not necessarily a criticism of your current accountant; often it's simply that the business has grown past the service it started with.
Tiba will ask about your business, your current financial setup, what's causing difficulty and what you're trying to achieve. From there she can identify what's likely to need attention and explain what possible next steps look like.
Profit and cash are different things. When customers pay, when suppliers are paid, VAT and tax timing, stock, work in progress, equipment purchases and drawings all affect cash without necessarily changing profit. The answer isn't to watch the bank balance more closely it's to have financial information that shows you what's actually happening.
Not every business does. But if you're growing and making decisions through the year, waiting for annual accounts means you learn how the year went after you can no longer change it. The right level of reporting depends on the size, complexity and pace of your business we'll talk about what's proportionate for you.
No. We support established businesses across many industries. Tiba's engineering and manufacturing background simply gives her particular depth when working with manufacturing and product-based companies.
No. Plenty of the people we speak to are simply trying to work out whether what they're getting is enough. If it is, we'll tell you.
It's more straightforward than most people expect. Professional clearance and handover are routine, and we manage the process. It usually takes less of your time than the problem you're changing to solve.
It depends entirely on the size of the business and the level of support it needs — bookkeeping and compliance is a different scope from Finance Director-level involvement. We'll always agree the scope and the fee before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
We're based in Surrey and work with clients across Surrey, London and the South East. Meetings can be in person, online or by phone — whatever suits how you work.
